MYOCA and Scrollworks thanks the Bruno Foundation for their grant in support of our programs.
The Scrollworks Youth Music School is designed to prepare students to play in an ensemble: one of our youth ensembles, a praise band, a school orchestra, or their own rock band. We teach more than how to play an instrument. We teach music.
All lessons for the fall sesson are filled. However, we strongly recommend that you complete and submit a registration form to be placed on the waiting list. We will be pulling from that list to fill any no-shows after the first lessons on Sept. 11.

Registration for spring will begin on December 20, 2010.
The lessons for the spring semester will begin on January 22 and last until May 7. This period will include 12 lessons and a final solo recital.
This past summer we at Scrollworks have made strides to improve both the quality and the experience of music education. Because of the increasing demand for Scrollworks lessons, a desire to serve as many students as possible and a renewed emphasis on youth musicians, we have moved away from our beloved drop-in lessons. This fall we are offering scheduled lesson times on Fridays and Saturdays that will be consistent for the entire semester.
Here are some of the changes that we implemented on June 1:
- Scheduled lesson times with a specific teacher
- Registration required
-
Skill level, comprehension, practice time and attendance will be graded
- A passing grade will be required to participate in early registration
-
Students are required to have an instrument to practice on
- Scrollworks will loan instruments depending on availability
- Three terms: Spring, Summer, Fall
- Registration fee of $25 each term (will include method book for instrument &music theory workbook)
- Age limits of 10 to 18
