Our Mission: The Metropolitan Youth Orchestras of Central Alabama is dedicated to making music instruction and ensemble playing available to all, thereby developing character and sense of community.
We teach orchestral instruments, piano, and guitar to ages 8 to 18, including children with disabilities. Participating students may borrow instruments that they can also use in their school's music program.
The Sounds Of Summer 2026 Start Here
Registration for July Summer 2026 is still open! Families may click the Summer 2026 tab for full program information, schedules, class options, and registration links. July is a good opportunity for new students to begin, returning students to keep playing, and students to try one of our summer electives. Instruction will take place on three Saturdays, with orchestra beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by lessons and group classes from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., with final schedules depending on enrollment.
Scrollworks is an approved Alabama CHOOSE Act Education Service Provider.

We're celebrating our 19th year of music ensembles and instruction! We continue to serve every interested child, age 8 to 18, including those with disabilities.

We offer several performing ensembles for both new and returning students. Certain prerequisite skills must be demonstrated and a placement audition may be required.
