Our Mission: The Metropolitan Youth Orchestras of Central Alabama is dedicated to making music instruction and ensemble playing available to all, thereby developing character and sense of community.
We teach orchestral instruments, piano, and guitar to ages 8 to 18, including children with disabilities. Participating students may borrow instruments that they can also use in their school's music program.
The Sounds Of Summer 2026 Start Here
Registration for Summer 2026 is now open. Families may click the Summer 2026 tab for full program information, schedules, class options, and registration links. This summer we will offer instruction on three Saturdays in June and three in July, with options to register for one month or both. Teaching will begin with orchestra at 9:00 a.m., followed by lessons and group classes from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with final schedules depending on enrollment. Summer electives are also available.
Scrollworks is an approved Alabama CHOOSE Act Education Service Provider.

We're celebrating our 19th year of music ensembles and instruction! We continue to serve every interested child, age 8 to 18, including those with disabilities.

We offer several performing ensembles for both new and returning students. Certain prerequisite skills must be demonstrated and a placement audition may be required.
